"They" use a short leg tongue and groove which doesn't add to the strength of the case. This extrusion saves "Them" lots of cash because aluminum is sold by the pound.

"They" use a standard aluminum angle which is connected to the case by split-rivets. Split rivets are peened over into the wood. Heavy use causes the split -rivets to work loose.
